Format & Local Rules
- Each team will consist of an A-player and B-player based on handicap, and be assigned a team number. The team number will be used to determine weekly opponents.
- Weekly matches are each worth 3 points: 1 Point for each 9 hole, individual match (A vs. A, B vs. B). 1 Point for the team Better Ball.
- Sixteen weeks of Regular Season matches
- Every team will play every other team based on an all-play-all tournament design.
- Top sixteen teams make the playoffs based on total points
- Any ties will be based on the regular season match between the two contending teams.
- If there are more than two teams, top team will be determined by total team score for a week randomly drawn.
- 75% of handicaps used
- First three weeks of season, past handicaps will be used. After the third week, the first three scores for each player will be averaged out and used for week 4. For week 5, the first four weeks will be averaged out and so forth.
- USGA and Local rules will apply
- Play the ball down everywhere unless indicated before the matches start every week.
- Players must stay out of all environmental areas (hole #’s 7 & 8).
- Drop zone for hole #7 is in front of red tee markers.
- Carts must return to the cart path at the arrows in the fairway.
- Double Par Rule:*worst case scenario…player G is chipping for a nine on a par four. He picks up and marks himself down for an eight. His opponent misses a putt for a seven and taps in for eight. I think this will ultimately help pace of play and eliminate the Stroke & Distance Rule.
Substitutes
- I will have a list of subs for any team that needs one for any given week.
- I will need notice by 3:00 prior to tee off, so I can adjust the scorecards accordingly.
- For the playoffs, a substitute must play at least one week in the league in order to play.
- If no substitute is available for all of playoffs, then the individual may choose to play both of his opponents (If there is no sub available for a regular season match, then this concept will be allowed).
